The Volunteer Development Team is here to support you in your role, whether you are a Section Leader, Lead Volunteer or Trustee. As a team we:
Attract and welcome new volunteers to County Teams
Make sure volunteers are well-supported
Help volunteers with learning
Recognise volunteers
We are a brand new and growing team, following the recent transformation of the volunteer experience. To help us achieve our mission of ensuring all our brilliant volunteers are well supported we need help. We have aa wide range of roles and tasks available.
Many tasks could be carried out by adults with other roles in Scouting - you don't need to give up a local role you love to help support other adults in the County. But if you fancy a change or a new challenge we can also offer this.
We are looking for:​

Administrators
Volunteers who can instruct a wide range of practical skills
Volunteers with management experience to train, mentor and coach other managers
Volunteers to support writing of award citations
Volunteer recruitment experts
First Response Trainers (and we can offer you training to take up this role)
Learning assessors
6 - 8 years
Make friends and try new indoor and outdoor activities
8 - 10 1/2 years
Learn practical skills while having adventures with friends
10 1/2 - 14 years
Build confidence, resilience and a sense of adventure
14 - 18 years
Take the lead, work together and embrace new experiences
18 - 25 years
Hone employability skills and achieve top awards
